MANUFACTURING METHOD

Fib-R-Lite fiberglass door systems are the only choice when your application demands durability, quality, performance and value in a corrosion resistant door. Fib-R-Lite fiberglass doors are designed to stand the test of time in challenging conditions including wastewater treatment plants, chemical plants, institutions, and car washes. Fib-R-Lite doors are also an excellent choice for coastal applications including exterior openings with high humidity and severe wind conditions.

Fib-R-Lite door systems utilize corrosion resistant materials and manufacturing methods, resulting in a door system that will stand up to harsh chemicals, strong cleaning agents, saltwater and other corrosive elements. The standard gelcoat skin and urethane topcoat finish has proven to be a highly effective solution in applications that require a fiberglass door. All Fib-R-Lite door systems are covered under a limited lifetime warranty against failure due to corrosion. 

DOOR SURFACE

Fib-R-Lite’s door surface consists of an “in-mold” 25-30 mil gel coat and a muscular bi-axial glass fiber structural reinforcement layer that further strengthens the door skin. Each door is factory finished with a specially formulated multi-component polyurethane industrial chemical coating for the semi-gloss color topcoat. This standard finish eliminates the need for field finishing, and is comparable to the strength and durability of 20 coats of paint. 

INTERNAL CONSTRUCTION

A structural pultruded FRP stile, rail and midrail sub-frame surrounds the core. At each of the sealed corner joints and hardware locations, polymer blocking reinforcement provides great strength for screw retention and compression resistance.

CORE MATERIALS

The standard Fib-R-Lite door is filled with a 3/8” triangular cell phenolic-impregnated kraft honeycomb core.

LITE KIT OPTIONS

Door lights are available with FRP screwless vision light kits. 

FRAMES

Fib-R-Lite frames are available in a variety of styles and profiles and adapt to all types of wall construction, including metal stud and gypsum construction, insulated wall panel, block and CMU. The Fib-R-Lite frame is top coated to complement each door. Additional frames are available contact the factory for more information.
